Unbounded

01/07/2026

To bind oneself to someone else

Is to unlock doors and the

Precious things we keep behind them.

Dreams to be brighter, meaningful, more

A whisper trailing across a blue sky turned comet

Scattered pieces of light passing through sight and time.

Fears that rattle around in our heads

A snake’s tail hissing: doubt and stumble.

Echoes of our childhood we haven’t yet forgiven.

Hopes that the next one will work out:

The next job, the next love, the next leap.

To leap, to love, is a risk of breaking again.

Desires that writhe just under the skin,

A tiny tingle when the right words are said

And your hands feel the shape of what you craved.

To know safety within another unravels the strings we’ve tied in knots

So that we might bind each other,

And be, unbounded, a wreath of shimmering wavelengths.
